See Ya Saturday!!!

I just got home and I am now waiting on Ed to get here to leave on our trip. Lexy had her hair done and other unpleasant things done to her so she is ready to roll. The blog will probably be quiet for a week but I shall return with new pictures and hopefully a lot of crafting done. I stopped in to the shop to say hi and the girls were there crocheting and as always was good to see them. Pretty projects are in the works from them so we shall see! Good work ladies!
*soapbox* Stupid drivers......UGH can I say UGH UGH? Why is everyone in such a hurry? If I am doing 45 in a 40 or gawd forbid a 35, why do people fly by me as if I took away their birthday? This country needs a time out. Everyone needs to go home and just stop. JUST STOP!!! Thursday night on my way home people were by passing the armature at a train track. Mind you it was cold and rainy and DUH it usually means a TRAIN! I cannot visualize world peace until we find some right here in our own back yards. Glenda the good witch was right "There's NO place like home!" I am off to visit the land of my birth. While I am riding, driving and crafting, I think I will take my own time out and just find some good chi. *soapbox*
I hope all of you have a happy New Year and visualize USA Peace and the end of stupid drivers! LOL

Friday & Flabulous!

Well I woke up around 430 am. What was I thinking??? MY body kept getting drowning messages from the combination of sinus problems and my CPAP. I gave up around 430 and just got up. OK so what do you do that time of day? You KNIT or CROCHET! I did both! I started on a sock because I got my ebay needles. I got to the second needle of the first row and had to rip it all out. My yarn was trapped in the middle of the circle. I know that is not right so I started over!
Around 830 or so UPS knocked on the door. I was not dressed so he got me at the door wrapped in a blanket and my jambones...LOL It was the package from my sister. That is now the picture of the day! I dont know if I did all her gifts justice, but I hope to have captured all of it nicely. She went way beyond what I expected! I cannot wait to try the knitting needles. They are the adjustable ones for in the round. The Santa face is on a tree skirt since she noticed my poor tree has no clothes on...LOL I dont know about you but I see a purse in the future of that yarn woooo wooooo!
Today is packing day and I dont mean a weapon....unless you count my wit...LOL I need to get packed and get my DL and get the house cleaned up. If I get it all done today, I can go knit tomorrow! If I dont get finished, I may have to stay home and work and that is NO fun!
As I progress with my socks, I will take pix so you can cheer me on. Please cheer me on. hahahahahahaha
OK I need to get dressed for the DMV...dang those folks for requiring clothing...LMAO Be well!!!

Wednesday Woes

The pictures today are of the finished product Alex's scarf & hat set. My BF said no fringe because boys don't do fringe so there is no fringe. I doubled it over and crocheted it into a tube. I hope this makes it very warm without it being too big for his neck and face. Alex is 6 and my little man. I hope he likes this set. I will get it mailed off as soon as I can get it packed O;)
OK so today I feel like crap. I could be gentle and say something nice, but I just don't feel that good...LOL Last night Ed & I went to see the Chipmunks movie. I LOVED it!!! OMG I laughed and laughed. I remember watching them on TV as a kid and having their albums. They updated the Witch Doctor song and that made me sad....I prefer the old version.
OK so last night I found something new to bitch about annoying me. Shocked aren't you??? There were some small kids there last night with squeakers in their shoes. Now maybe their parents see this as cute and they always know where their kids are....but MY LORD! Not only was the squeak annoying as He!!.....they were late going in to their movie and I can only imagine what the people in there thought of the darn squeaks coming in and disrupting the movie. I think I would have booooooed!!! LOL
They could have picked up the kids & carried them in but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I am glad I was not in the same movie with them. Whew saved by the grace of God there!
OK that is off my chest!!! I need to finish up some work on my purses I have in the works and then I am writing a pattern for one I am doing! Give me time to make it up...LOL & then I hope you like it!

Merry Christmas

Well the big day is here!!! Was Santa good to you??? It is a beautiful day here. My family is safe and happy and all are well. This is the best gift I can get. Today's photos are of my Christmas tree (pretty huh??) 2007 and my best baby girl Miss Lexy. She has her duckie (her puppy) and looks so cute doesn't she??? Life has been blessed by having her in my life. I will always think of her as my heart song.
What is on the hook now??? I have finished the scarf and hat set for Alex and will post a picture next time. I am starting a bag that I hope to post the pattern soon as well. I have slowed down the new projects so I can finish some things up. I made new sections for Warm up America. I have my wrap on the knitting needles. I won an ebay auction for some needles (dp needles of many sizes). I will need them for socks next year. Speaking of next year, I will be on vacation for a few days to SC. I will be spending time with Ed's Mother and my Parents. I will get a lot of road crafting done. I am throughly excited. Christmas supper is almost done so I will say bye for now. I wish you all many blessings and a Happy year ahead!!!

The Day after Wine, Women & Wool

OK so yesterday I was too busy to blog. I was making weenies in a blanket and trying to get things together for my night at the knit shop. OMG it was a blast and so many of my friends were there making it a great night to one of those days! It was a great pot luck and the goodies were delicious. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the grub. I worked on my crochet purse and made some head way on it. I gave my 3 girls their meager little gift but I tell you it was the joy in knowing them to give them something that made me feel good.
Today's picture is for my son-in-law Roy. It is a scarf. I found it is tough to photograph a scarf...LOL but there it is. It is soft and warm and I hope he likes it! It gets cold in Spokane so I know they can use them. Today has been laundry day and I hate laundry. I love to fold and iron but hate the loading & unloading of the machines.
OK off to do some housework and work on craft projects....ooops as I type that the dryer has buzzed ....well poo...guess I have to unload it LOL
Have a great weekend if I dont get back to you!!! Be well!!!

Wowser Wednesday

Sheeshhhhhh where did this week go??? I have been sickly but trying to keep going. Today I will be transplanting plants from the old house to the new. It is nearly 70 degrees here so I am in shorts and will be using the shovel. How sexy is that??? I have on my red Wells Fargo hat, purple tank, purple flower shorts and orange shoes.....you cant get much better than that can you?
I have a bitch for today. If you can explain this to me, I would love to hear it. I have been annoyed lately about a restaurant with beautiful flat screen TVs in them and the sound off. On top of that, they have horrible music playing so loud you cannot chat with your dinner partner. If I get interested in what is on TV, I cannot hear what is being said. I think it is very rude to watch TV while dining with a friend anyway. The music playing overhead is too loud and it is usually some screaming sound a cat would run from. Maybe it is younger managers selecting the station but it is annoying. An instrumental would be better. I do not want to listen to words while I am trying to talk. OK restaurant owners, do something about this!!! It is annoying.
OK that is off my chest! LOL
I have no new pictures. WHAT you say??? How can that be? I think it is the time of the year. I am busy doing so many things I cannot concentrate on just one. I am behind on my projects and pictures but you just wait until the new year!!!
OK I am off to move plants! Be well, Be happy and be yourself as no one else has time to master you!
Chao!

Wine, Women & Wool Thursday

OK so yesterday was interesting. After I cleaned up the rain, I saw the bushes outside of my office window full and I do mean full of birds! I felt bad for them as it was rainy & cold and they looked hungry. I opened the window to access the feeder and then walked away to get seed. They all flew off when I opened things up so I thought I was safe. I came back with the seed but had no cup to dip with. Again thinking I am safe, I waked into the kitchen to get a cup. When I came back, sitting inside the house on the ledge of the window was a small bird. Lucky for me he saw me first and flew out of the window and not in. I filled up the feeder and no birds have been back since. They may be afraid of the crazy lady inside the house that rains...LOL
I finished up my SIL's scarf today. He should like it is is nice and fuzzy warm. After I block it tomorrow, I will post a picture of it.
Today's picture comes to us courtesy of Dan Dan the Cat Man. He found the warmest spot in the house yesterday and refused to move no matter what you needed in the bathroom. This is the type of heaters we have in the house and since that small one is the only one, it has been cold in here. Dan is the smart one of us in this bunch...hahahahahaha!
OK I am off to finish my projects before my night out with the ladies.
Blessings to you all and to all a good stiff drink!

Wednesday Wordies

Well ok it is raining in my kitchen. Now that I have your attention, I can explain. I set a pot of water on the stove to boil and possibly heat up the house a bit. Little did I know that it would condensate so heavily on the ceiling and start raining. I am assuming it is the problem, because the roof leaks in this house. I am sure it has to be the water boiling only because it is so widespread...LOL. I am not sure what I will do to fix this problem but I did turn off the water. I can be such a dork sometimes!
OK so I can post the pictures of my felted bag now because I will be mailing it soon. I am sure it will not be seen by my SIL before she gets it. She never
reads my blog! I hope you like the pictures as much as I loved making it! I had so much fun with it I almost wanted to keep it! I admire crafters who sell their wares. I always want to keep my things I make. After they are with the person who gets them I am ok, but I enjoy the making so much I feel like they are my kids.
I am looking out on my view of the world today and it is raining (outside too...LOL) It is 37 degrees and they think we may get snow/freezing rain today??? OMG you just hang out here in TX and the weather will be changing
. Just yesterday it started out around 70 degrees! No wonder so many people are sick. Nothing else on my mind so I guess I should go clean up that Kitchen.....lmao it will be different!

Tuesday Snippets

Last night was my Christmas party with my knitsters/hookers. OMG we had a fun night. I was very disappointed in the Blue Mesa service. They were mildly busy and knew our group would be there and it took forever to get our drink orders, our food orders and then omg I thouhgt we would have to order out to actually get food. They auto add gratuity to your check and my question is, "When is it ok to refuse to pay the auto amount?" What do you do? I paid it but I sure felt like refusing to pay the 18%. Maybe next time, I will not be so generous. Here's my beef: paying for poor service. It does not send a message to the wait staff to improve on their game. However, they did eventually get us our orders and the food was great. *sigh I suppose I did the right thing.
The pictures above are finally of the purse I knitted. I made it as part of my exchange gift in the Chinese Christmas last night. I did not want to spoil the surprise before the party. and I did not get very good pictures after I look back at them...LOL Oh well my friend Debi took my gift from the person who opened it and loved the bag so I know it has a good home.
I received a great gift. it is a fold up stand bag for my fiber art with 2 balls of spandex cotton yarn. I am very excited to come up with an idea for the yarn. I need something like this to organize my WIP in my living room. My goals or resolutions for the new year is to keep my WIP more organized. I have quite a mess right now and I know it.
I have a lot of new items to take pictures of, and will get to that ASAP but for now off to house work *UGH*!!!
More later later....O:)

Saturday Snippets

The picture is a snap of the Christmas Tree in downtown Fort Worth. I got a quick snap of it. It is beautiful!!!
OK so my Saturday fell down the hill like an avalanche snow ball. I was all set to mow the yard and dig up some of my plants to transplant. Then guess what I did!!! I broke the mower. I stopped to take a break and the part where the pull
cord is popped off the mower. I suppose it will need new bolts and I may as well replace the cord while I have it all off. UGH I hate when fate throws the proverbial wrench in my day.
I finished my grandson's knit cap. Gawd I am proud of me....LOL It is knitted on circular needles so it was a very new experience for me. I hope he likes it!

I am almost finished with the felted bag I am making. The bag felted perfectly!!!
This is my recipe for felting in a front loader: (It works!)

I put my bag in the machine with 3 pairs of my plastic clog shoes. I put in laundry soap and washed on hot. I ran it for 2 cycles. after that, I threw it in the dryer. Now that may be a no no but it worked great for me! I cannot wait to post the finished project.

WIP:
my beaded bag
rectangular section for Warm up America (always on the hook)
scarf Angel Hair yarn
and any new project I can think of! LOL

Pain level today is about a 6 so I am off to relax. Blessings to you all and the ones you love.
Thought for today: Think of 3 people you love and let them know because you can never get back lost time with them.
Hugs!!!

Wine, Women & Wool Thursday

Today is the day we sit and crochet & knit and just chill with the girls. I am sure ready for it!!! I have still not recovered fully from my cold or allergy attack so I am a bit weak but I will gain strength to get to this fun night!!! Sometimes you just have to rise above adversity. What we forget in this world is that everyone has bad things happen to them. Now I know my cold does not compare to many adverse situations out there, but for me right now it is miserable and a hinderance to my everyday life. Whatever is on your heart today, I will pray that you can lift yourself up and find the sunshine that is there for everyone.
I got up at 7 am today and that is saying a LOT for me! I needed to go to the post office before Ed goes to work. I thought they opened at 8 am. Good thing for me I took knitting and crochet to keep me busy! LOL I love portable crafting! They open at 830 am and I was able to sit and craft while I waited and because of that I was 4th in line...oh dear and I was first to get there.
Little stocking will be going to it's tree tonight. I am excited to hang her up. I need to make more of them to give as gifts.
Tonight I hope to see the Christmas lights in Downtown FTW. I will try to take some pictures. Off now to wash some dishes. Have a beautiful day. Blessings to you all.

Timeout Tuesday

OK so the pictures above are my daughter's scarf. I am very proud of it. I am a new knitter and it took me a while to finish this up. it is 2x2 rib`all the way up and edged with crochet in 2 different types/colors of eyelash yarn. The crochet is in lime green & white. What do you think? I am just glad it is done.
Today was my day to get some work done around here. I cleaned up the living room some and then the kitchen. I am trying to sort through some stuff in my house and plan on what is worthy to be moved to the new house. I am going from over 1300 sq ft to around 1000 sq ft and combine with my baby Ed. Whew....we will have to have some creative organizational skills!!!
I also have finished a purse that I cannot show you yet because it is for a Christmas gift. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh LOL it is tough to wait!

Today I started a project where I am knitting in the round. Again I need prayers as I am teaching myself again...LOL I swear I just follow my own path!!! It makes me who I am and I cannot change that!!!
For today, that is all. I could not find my Wreath for Christmas so tomorrow looks like a day in the shed. UGH!!!
Blessings to you all and those in your lives.....Angel

Superior Saturday

OK so last night was a lot of fun. Ed & I went out looking at the Christmas lights. My goodness some people go all out!!! We had a lot of fun. Something simple with so much joy! What a great concept! Another great concept is cheesecake bites at Sonic......wow now that was a nice treat on a cool rainy trip around looking at the lights! Whoever thought it up was a genius! Today I am busy trying to finish up a purse and the scarf I made. Maybe post pictures tomorrow. I hope to get the finishing touches tonight and mark off 2 more WIPs. I swear I could start my own shop with all the projects I have going!!!
I made the cutest stocking yesterday for my Yarn Shop tree. It is so cute, I cannot stand myself...LOL Going to take a picture of it to post here & see how cute it is!!!! It is only about the size of my palm, but it is so cute for the tree or a package.
I am off to get things done around here...be well and many blessings!!!

Wine, Women & Wool Thursday

Good evening!!! Even though I still feel like crap, I went to my Thursday night out with the girls. I just can't miss it!!! I took my New Nordstrom Hobo Bag knockoff with me and the ladies loved it. I do too!!! I finally was able to post pictures of it here. It is so soft and pettable in person. Wish you had computer touch a vision...LOL I still have the sniffles and coughing and gawd I hate the coughing!!! I am working on new projects and will post them to you as soon as I get them done. I made a tube out of knitting for my Cpap machine and it looks like a purple Elephant nose but it really does keep the hose warm. I may have to make and sell them for others afraid of drowning.
One more very exciting thing happened to me today. I won an ebay auction for John Denver's album "Aerie" I asked for it for my birthday and it is so rare it is tough to find and even here it was over $30.00. The auction I won today is one still in the plastic, a poster included for less than $20.00. I was overjoyed. Thanks to my daughter for the birthday present!!!
What is on the hook here??? So many things but one of them is part of my Chinese Christmas with my Thursday girls, a small bag, a wrap (knit), and several other unfinished items. If I could crochet & not sleep I think I would right now...LOL
OK I am off to work on my bags.....Be well and may God Bless you in all your ways.

Timely Tuesday

Good Afternoon. I was knitting and relaxing this morning and decided I needed to add a line here. I almost finished my daughter's scarf and started a cover for my cpap hose. I was putting an edge on the scarf when I ran out of the eyelash yarn I need and now have to go back and find more of it to finish my design. I will post pix of the finished product. I will be sewing in a bit and will be finishing up my purse I made so a picture of that will be coming too. It is about time to pack up the craft room and get it moved into the new house. That will be a LOT of boxes as well as my clothes so I will be busy the next 2 months. If I do not chat each day, I will try to catch up asap.
Blessings for the day...tty more later!

Sunday Sunday

Ok I survived the Turkey day and a couple of left over servings and it was yummmmmmmmmmmE!!! It was nice and quiet and I like it that way. Yesterday was my sit and craft with my Thursday Girls. We needed a day to avoid withdrawls. I had fun and Ithink the other ladies had a great day too. I knitted on a scarf I am making.
I have so many items on the hook/needles now, I hate to stop for sleep!!!
I am looking for or will design a pattern for a jester hat. I have yet to find one so, I may end up making one. I will keep that updated as it progresses.
It is cold and dreary here in North Texas. It may even snow again later. That is rare for us so dont laugh at me for being excited. It snowed/sleeted/rained on Thanksgiving and that is the official sign for us that winter is here. Ok what little bit of winter we get. We call this stage Late Summer.
I am off to my knitting and a warm blanket. I will chat more later!
Blessings to you & yours!

The Day before big food day

Well here we are the official beginning to the holiday season. It will be my first Thanksgiving with Ed and I hope he likes my serious cooking. I know a person can go through day to day cooking with you and be ok but that first serious turkey coma day is a big challenge. I will of course keep you updated and let you know if I need help hiding any of the bodies...LOL
How is it that the day before Thanksgiving is the dirtiest day in your house? I was cleaning the dining room, and poof there is where all of the dust bunnies have been hiding. It may take all night and all day tomorrow to get things ready. There in lies my problem. I will have no time for knitting!!! or crochet!!! What a bummer.
The pictures I have posted are of my shawl I made from this pattern: Caron Simply Shawl
. It is very easy and you should give it a go. My edge was a bit of my own design and that is common for me.
OK back to work...this break has lasted past it's time out status...LOL
Keep creating for it makes our world a better place to be.

Birthday Weekend news

OK so I have been away a couple of days. It was my birthday on Saturday and I have been running like a wild woman. My bf has been very sick and so that does not get a lot of my honey dos done. Maybe next weekend we can move some plants.
My daughter and bf took me to Olive Garden for my Birthday dinner. It was a very nice time had by all. I have a good time with good company so for sure this was a blast. The waiters sang to me and the Lambrusco was a very good wine.
I finished up the crochet on my Nordstrom bag. I need now to buy a ribbon and attach the handle. My knitting is coming along slow but sure.

My scarf for my oldest daughter is getting longer by the minute. I will post a picture of it soon but the picture here today is the first part of it. I don't know how long one is supposed to be but I will try it on my neck and see how much I need to make for it. She is a lot shorter than me so it should work out.
Did you watch the AMA show on tonight? The duo by Sugarland (love love love them!!!) and Beyonce was the hottest thing I have seen in a long time. I love the song they performed and the duo made it sizzle.
Today was laundry day and I only got a small portion of it done but all of my clothes put away so I am glad. My bf has a doc appt in the morning. He is so sick & I hope they can help him out.
What is next on my craft list??? I could hear you asking so I will tell. I am making stockings for my sister's family. My Mother made the embroidery names for them & I am sewing them up. My dining room is my focus for the up coming week. It needs a good cleaning so we can have Thanksgiving at the table. What a concept huh???
OK that is all of my thoughts for now. May blessings be yours and may you always have enough.

Wine, Women & Wool night

Tonight is my weekly craft night. I cannot tell you how much I look forward to this time on my own with friends who appreciate my craft. I wish I could find a group like this for my Mother in Mauldin, SC, area. She would really have fun. Tonight's projects will be a knitted scarf I am working on and my new Nordstrom Hobo Bag. I admit I am a bag ho and love to make a new one, but this bag is so nice.
Tuesday afternoon I found out a lady I knew passed away. I had been trying to reconnect to her, but alas it was not meant to be. Her Name was Dona Stovall and I wish her many happy years beyond the rainbow bridge.
My sister gave me a camera for my Birthday (Sat Nov 17th) and I have been going nuts taking pictures. I hope to post some very soon.
This will be short & sweet and I hope to do more later but let me explain something. My computer has been down and it is taking a bit to get back on the roll here.
I want to Wish Kendall a very happy 6th birthday (yesterday) and Ihope she knows how much her aunt nana loves her.
God bless anyone who sees these words and may happiness be your first priority with your faith second. Only in a happy state can you receive the power of faith.
Be Well.

First Day back from SA

Happy Tuesday evening to you my reader. My trip to San Antonio this weekend went great. I love seeing my sister and my nieces. Gawd they are cute!!! Katy tried to steal my Boyfriend and we may have to have a sit down chat...LOL. It was a small birthday celebration for all of us having birthdays together. Me, Kendall, Katy(Half birthday) and Ed. The cakes were a delight to all and the taste went over very well. I am sure I will be making others down the road.
My sister and I ventured out to "The Yarn Barn" in SA and had a fabulous day. Those ladies were not only helpful, but a fantastic thrill to chat with. I found several items in the clearance bins and my sis found a lot of things in the kits and yarns for gifts she hopes to finish.
The fun thing about my sister's house is she is always sending home loads of treasures for me to sort through. I tend to have a lot of junk that I don't need, but I hope to sort through and pass along just like my sis does for me. This is where I tell you about freecycle. I am a member in my city and really enjoy posting items for free and searching for items I need. Seems I almost always find what I am looking for. Look for the one nearest you at www.freecycle.com
Things here were a mess. I left a mess and others were created for me so it seems. I have been trying to clean up and catch up on all I do. maybe by the end of the week I will achieve my goals.
I will end for today and get back to my stuff. Be well and happy as you only have so many days, waste one and want for many more!
Blessings,
Angel

Day Two -- Happy Birthday Brandy!

Today is my baby daughter's 25th birthday. Man that is hard to type out and admit. Her name is Brandy and I am so proud of the woman she has become. Her bff bought her an ice cream cake for her birthday so no pictures of one I made for her...LOL!!!

As I promised, here are pictures of the doll cakes I made for my niece's birthday celebrations. Katy's is her half birthday cake & because she is so little, her cake is very small. Tonight, I have had one person ask me if I made them to sell. I may have to ponder that idea.

Not much knitting or crochet today. I spent most of my day on these cakes. I missed my weekly craft group tonight because of the cakes, birthday dinner out with the daughter and bf and the need to pack. I will be out of town for a couple of days so will be a while before I post again. I will be knitting and crocheting on the road. I will hopefully have a lot to tell you when I return. Have a great weekend and keep on crafting!!

Day One Blogger

Well Happy Day! This is day one of my crafty blog and I hope to keep this one going on and on. This is my home for my craft projects, my artwork and an exhibit hall for all of it. Since I am new at this, please be kind LOL!!! I am not sure if I will do everything right or on time, but I will promise to do my best! I am a degreed artist working at home in Texas creating different things.
My current passion is for bags. I just cant get enough of them. My favorite bag was one I sent on to my Mother made from the Nordstrom bag pattern. I included a picture so you can see how nice it was. I will be making more, but I think I will make them deeper for a girl like me who needs more space. What do you think?
Pattern Found HERE

Sunday marked 9 months of a wonderful romance with my man Ed. He is the kindest, sweetest man I have ever met and I am excited to be a part of his life. We meld well together as he has a youthful soul and I refuse to grow old. I will tell you more about him as we go along. Just wanted to make a mile marker here. He has made me smile so many times my face hurts.

On the agenda for the day is making a cake for my niece Kendall and a half birthday cake for her sister Katy. Their birthdays are exactly 6 months apart. In my house, my kids wanted to celebrate half birthdays once they got old enough that they considered that to be important. The girls will be getting doll cakes and I will post pictures when they are done. One will be big for the soon to be 6 year old and one will be small for the 1 and 1/2 yr old.

OK I need to get busy on projects around here.
