Winter Weather Event

Pictures are of the red hat I made for my partner in my crochet group. I love it and plan to make more of them. It is very round and feminine. The inside looks like it is felted so I turned it wrong side out for that effect. Here is the pattern. Enjoy. If you have questions about what I did to it, please email me about it.
OK so here in North Texas, we seldom see winter weather as the northern USA sees it. We generally get ice, maybe some unexpected snow flakes at weird times of the year and sleet is a friend of ours. Tonight may be no different. We are supposed to have freezing conditions with rain forecast. Now this translated means ICE. The grocery stores will be jam packed and people will go nuts thinking they wont be able to get out of their homes for 24 hours. It is quite a site and I enjoy the process myself. Too bad I cannot take videos for you. It would be fun. There wont be a canned veggie anywhere in town. I find the entire performance funny.
I am going back to packing up the bathroom now and getting ready for a sleep over at the new house. We are having supper here (Frito Chilli Pie) and then a trip to the street with trash and then unload a load at the new house and then rest. Tomorrow is a busy day for me as I have to start working in the new house....LOL Prayers are requested!!!
Be well!!!

Taking a break

I am sitting here eating soup and freezing to death. It is 39 degrees with no wind chill and this house is so cold. The new house has a plus and that is central heat. I may spend the night over there tonight. This is ridiculous. The seagull in the picture was taken at the first of the year on the beach in Charleston. It was very cold that day too and he looks like nothing is wrong. I am using him as my inspiration for this week. I can stay warm and get my life back from this move. LOL
Things are going well and the move is getting there slowly but sure. Sunday is the big day and the truck will be here to haul my furniture away. I will be so happy! I knew I had a lot of crap, but I never knew it was this bad!
I finished my hat for my exchange partner last night. I will take a picture and send it out to the group as soon as I find the camera. I need to get it in the mail too. sheesh I have a lot to do!
Be well!!!

Wine, Women & Wool Thursday

These pictures are of the suspension in Charleston, SC. This is just part of my pix from my trip. This was the most beautiful bridge I have seen in a long time. I had a fabulous time tonight. I think I split a gut laughing with the ladies. I enjoy this night of the week so much. It is dependable and I feel at home with them. They get me. Doesn't that just mean everything in the world???
On the Hook today: the wrap I am knitting (I need it right now it is cold in here), a crochet section for Warm up America, a pet cozy for the animal shelter.....see a theme here? I am cold and making things to warm up others...LOL
I also have a sock on the needles for me and ready to turn and make the heel. Pray for me!!!
I would like to share a funny with you. I put a lot of my stash into space bags for the move across town. they were packed into the car tonight for Ed to unload at our house. I could hear the air going back into one of the bags as if the seal was broken. In the car, the bag letting air in was making the other bag rise up as we drove. It could be scary. Ed says they both taking on air at the house. I guess I vac them both down again when I get over there. The shoe rack went over tonight. That is a huge deal for me. I will be using a hanging organizer in my closet I think for my shoes but we shall see. OK I am off to get warm and maybe do some hooking.
PS.....the name of my blog is offensive to my freecycle group. I cannot imagine why!!! They must be really boring...LOL Just kidding...I love that group.
Be well!!!!!

We had a very good time on our trip and I will have pictures very soon. This will be a short blog because I don't have time to download pictures and rant...LOL I will be back tomorrow though so look for more then. I worked on my purse that I will feature here. That may come in this week.
