Wine, Women & Wool Thursday

Good evening!!! Even though I still feel like crap, I went to my Thursday night out with the girls. I just can't miss it!!! I took my New Nordstrom Hobo Bag knockoff with me and the ladies loved it. I do too!!! I finally was able to post pictures of it here. It is so soft and pettable in person. Wish you had computer touch a vision...LOL I still have the sniffles and coughing and gawd I hate the coughing!!! I am working on new projects and will post them to you as soon as I get them done. I made a tube out of knitting for my Cpap machine and it looks like a purple Elephant nose but it really does keep the hose warm. I may have to make and sell them for others afraid of drowning.
One more very exciting thing happened to me today. I won an ebay auction for John Denver's album "Aerie" I asked for it for my birthday and it is so rare it is tough to find and even here it was over $30.00. The auction I won today is one still in the plastic, a poster included for less than $20.00. I was overjoyed. Thanks to my daughter for the birthday present!!!
What is on the hook here??? So many things but one of them is part of my Chinese Christmas with my Thursday girls, a small bag, a wrap (knit), and several other unfinished items. If I could crochet & not sleep I think I would right now...LOL
OK I am off to work on my bags.....Be well and may God Bless you in all your ways.

Timely Tuesday

Good Afternoon. I was knitting and relaxing this morning and decided I needed to add a line here. I almost finished my daughter's scarf and started a cover for my cpap hose. I was putting an edge on the scarf when I ran out of the eyelash yarn I need and now have to go back and find more of it to finish my design. I will post pix of the finished product. I will be sewing in a bit and will be finishing up my purse I made so a picture of that will be coming too. It is about time to pack up the craft room and get it moved into the new house. That will be a LOT of boxes as well as my clothes so I will be busy the next 2 months. If I do not chat each day, I will try to catch up asap.
Blessings for the day...tty more later!

Sunday Sunday

Ok I survived the Turkey day and a couple of left over servings and it was yummmmmmmmmmmE!!! It was nice and quiet and I like it that way. Yesterday was my sit and craft with my Thursday Girls. We needed a day to avoid withdrawls. I had fun and Ithink the other ladies had a great day too. I knitted on a scarf I am making.
I have so many items on the hook/needles now, I hate to stop for sleep!!!
I am looking for or will design a pattern for a jester hat. I have yet to find one so, I may end up making one. I will keep that updated as it progresses.
It is cold and dreary here in North Texas. It may even snow again later. That is rare for us so dont laugh at me for being excited. It snowed/sleeted/rained on Thanksgiving and that is the official sign for us that winter is here. Ok what little bit of winter we get. We call this stage Late Summer.
I am off to my knitting and a warm blanket. I will chat more later!
Blessings to you & yours!

The Day before big food day

Well here we are the official beginning to the holiday season. It will be my first Thanksgiving with Ed and I hope he likes my serious cooking. I know a person can go through day to day cooking with you and be ok but that first serious turkey coma day is a big challenge. I will of course keep you updated and let you know if I need help hiding any of the bodies...LOL
How is it that the day before Thanksgiving is the dirtiest day in your house? I was cleaning the dining room, and poof there is where all of the dust bunnies have been hiding. It may take all night and all day tomorrow to get things ready. There in lies my problem. I will have no time for knitting!!! or crochet!!! What a bummer.
The pictures I have posted are of my shawl I made from this pattern: Caron Simply Shawl
. It is very easy and you should give it a go. My edge was a bit of my own design and that is common for me.
OK back to work...this break has lasted past it's time out status...LOL
Keep creating for it makes our world a better place to be.

Birthday Weekend news

OK so I have been away a couple of days. It was my birthday on Saturday and I have been running like a wild woman. My bf has been very sick and so that does not get a lot of my honey dos done. Maybe next weekend we can move some plants.
My daughter and bf took me to Olive Garden for my Birthday dinner. It was a very nice time had by all. I have a good time with good company so for sure this was a blast. The waiters sang to me and the Lambrusco was a very good wine.
I finished up the crochet on my Nordstrom bag. I need now to buy a ribbon and attach the handle. My knitting is coming along slow but sure.

My scarf for my oldest daughter is getting longer by the minute. I will post a picture of it soon but the picture here today is the first part of it. I don't know how long one is supposed to be but I will try it on my neck and see how much I need to make for it. She is a lot shorter than me so it should work out.
Did you watch the AMA show on tonight? The duo by Sugarland (love love love them!!!) and Beyonce was the hottest thing I have seen in a long time. I love the song they performed and the duo made it sizzle.
Today was laundry day and I only got a small portion of it done but all of my clothes put away so I am glad. My bf has a doc appt in the morning. He is so sick & I hope they can help him out.
What is next on my craft list??? I could hear you asking so I will tell. I am making stockings for my sister's family. My Mother made the embroidery names for them & I am sewing them up. My dining room is my focus for the up coming week. It needs a good cleaning so we can have Thanksgiving at the table. What a concept huh???
OK that is all of my thoughts for now. May blessings be yours and may you always have enough.

Wine, Women & Wool night

Tonight is my weekly craft night. I cannot tell you how much I look forward to this time on my own with friends who appreciate my craft. I wish I could find a group like this for my Mother in Mauldin, SC, area. She would really have fun. Tonight's projects will be a knitted scarf I am working on and my new Nordstrom Hobo Bag. I admit I am a bag ho and love to make a new one, but this bag is so nice.
Tuesday afternoon I found out a lady I knew passed away. I had been trying to reconnect to her, but alas it was not meant to be. Her Name was Dona Stovall and I wish her many happy years beyond the rainbow bridge.
My sister gave me a camera for my Birthday (Sat Nov 17th) and I have been going nuts taking pictures. I hope to post some very soon.
This will be short & sweet and I hope to do more later but let me explain something. My computer has been down and it is taking a bit to get back on the roll here.
I want to Wish Kendall a very happy 6th birthday (yesterday) and Ihope she knows how much her aunt nana loves her.
God bless anyone who sees these words and may happiness be your first priority with your faith second. Only in a happy state can you receive the power of faith.
Be Well.

First Day back from SA

Happy Tuesday evening to you my reader. My trip to San Antonio this weekend went great. I love seeing my sister and my nieces. Gawd they are cute!!! Katy tried to steal my Boyfriend and we may have to have a sit down chat...LOL. It was a small birthday celebration for all of us having birthdays together. Me, Kendall, Katy(Half birthday) and Ed. The cakes were a delight to all and the taste went over very well. I am sure I will be making others down the road.
My sister and I ventured out to "The Yarn Barn" in SA and had a fabulous day. Those ladies were not only helpful, but a fantastic thrill to chat with. I found several items in the clearance bins and my sis found a lot of things in the kits and yarns for gifts she hopes to finish.
The fun thing about my sister's house is she is always sending home loads of treasures for me to sort through. I tend to have a lot of junk that I don't need, but I hope to sort through and pass along just like my sis does for me. This is where I tell you about freecycle. I am a member in my city and really enjoy posting items for free and searching for items I need. Seems I almost always find what I am looking for. Look for the one nearest you at www.freecycle.com
Things here were a mess. I left a mess and others were created for me so it seems. I have been trying to clean up and catch up on all I do. maybe by the end of the week I will achieve my goals.
I will end for today and get back to my stuff. Be well and happy as you only have so many days, waste one and want for many more!
Blessings,
Angel

Day Two -- Happy Birthday Brandy!

Today is my baby daughter's 25th birthday. Man that is hard to type out and admit. Her name is Brandy and I am so proud of the woman she has become. Her bff bought her an ice cream cake for her birthday so no pictures of one I made for her...LOL!!!

As I promised, here are pictures of the doll cakes I made for my niece's birthday celebrations. Katy's is her half birthday cake & because she is so little, her cake is very small. Tonight, I have had one person ask me if I made them to sell. I may have to ponder that idea.

Not much knitting or crochet today. I spent most of my day on these cakes. I missed my weekly craft group tonight because of the cakes, birthday dinner out with the daughter and bf and the need to pack. I will be out of town for a couple of days so will be a while before I post again. I will be knitting and crocheting on the road. I will hopefully have a lot to tell you when I return. Have a great weekend and keep on crafting!!

Day One Blogger

Well Happy Day! This is day one of my crafty blog and I hope to keep this one going on and on. This is my home for my craft projects, my artwork and an exhibit hall for all of it. Since I am new at this, please be kind LOL!!! I am not sure if I will do everything right or on time, but I will promise to do my best! I am a degreed artist working at home in Texas creating different things.
My current passion is for bags. I just cant get enough of them. My favorite bag was one I sent on to my Mother made from the Nordstrom bag pattern. I included a picture so you can see how nice it was. I will be making more, but I think I will make them deeper for a girl like me who needs more space. What do you think?
Pattern Found HERE

Sunday marked 9 months of a wonderful romance with my man Ed. He is the kindest, sweetest man I have ever met and I am excited to be a part of his life. We meld well together as he has a youthful soul and I refuse to grow old. I will tell you more about him as we go along. Just wanted to make a mile marker here. He has made me smile so many times my face hurts.

On the agenda for the day is making a cake for my niece Kendall and a half birthday cake for her sister Katy. Their birthdays are exactly 6 months apart. In my house, my kids wanted to celebrate half birthdays once they got old enough that they considered that to be important. The girls will be getting doll cakes and I will post pictures when they are done. One will be big for the soon to be 6 year old and one will be small for the 1 and 1/2 yr old.

OK I need to get busy on projects around here.
